Using A/V Technology in La Grange Satellite Office
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for using the Audio/Video (AV) systems in the five classrooms at the La Grange satellite office.
La Grange Classrooms: 125, 126, 127, 128, and 123.
This document ensures that users can effectively operate the AV systems and manage the modular features of the rooms.
General Information
- Classrooms 125, 126, 127, and 128 are adjoining spaces with moveable partitions, allowing them to accommodate up to three separate events or be combined for a larger event.
- Classroom 125 serves as the lead room for this setup.
- Classroom 123 is a standalone room located across the hallway.
Connecting Your Laptop to the Screens (All Classrooms)
- Connect the HDMI Cable:
- Locate the HDMI cord on the podium at the front of the room and plug it into your laptop.
- Adjust Display Settings:
- Press the F8 key (or the relevant key for your device) to adjust display settings.
- Select "Duplicate" to mirror your laptop screen on the classroom display.
- Select Sound Output:
- On your laptop, choose "Extron" as your audio output device to ensure sound plays through the room speakers instead of your laptop.
- Use the Wall-Mounted Control Panel:
- Refer to the control panel at the front of the room for additional settings.
Control Panel Glossary by Classroom
Classroom 123, 127, and 128:
- On: Turns the AV system on.
- Off: Turns the AV system off.
- Main Volume: Press this button before adjusting volume using the knob below the On/Off buttons.
- Mic 1: Activates the lapel microphone through the room speakers.
- Mic 2: Activates the handheld microphone through the room speakers.
- Blank On/Off: Press to temporarily turn off the screen display.
- CONF: Press and hold to enable audio and video for an online conference platform (e.g., Zoom, Teams, Slack).
- Audio Mute: Mutes audio from the laptop only (microphone audio remains enabled).

Classroom 125:
- On: Turns the AV system on.
- Off: Turns the AV system off.
- Combine All:
- Press and hold to combine all classrooms (125, 126, 127, 128).
- Press and hold to release all classrooms and return to 125 only.
- Combine 128:
- Press and hold to combine classroom 125 with classroom 128.
- Press and hold to release 128 and return to 125 only.
- Main Volume: Press this button before adjusting volume using the knob below the On/Off buttons.

Troubleshooting and Additional Tips
- No Display on Screen:
- Ensure the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the podium and your laptop.
- Verify that "Duplicate" is selected in your display settings.
- No Audio Output:
- Check that "Extron" is selected as your audio output device on the laptop.
- Ensure the volume on both the laptop and the control panel is turned up.
- Microphone Not Working:
- Verify that the correct microphone is activated on the control panel (Mic 1 or Mic 2).
- Ensure the microphone is turned on and the batteries are charged.
