Copying a Module or Page Into Another Canvas Course

Advantages: When you copy a module or page to another canvas course, the assets on that page or in the module are also copied over to the new course.

Limitations: Copying a page or module to the same course more than once will result in the previously copied page or module being overwritten by the newly copied page or module.

Copying a Page into Another Course

1. To copy a page into another course you will need to select either  Pages or Modules from the Course Navigation Menu. Click on the [1]  options menu located to the right of the page name and choose, [2]Copy To... from the drop-down menu.

2. In the  Copy To... window click the drop-down menu to [3] Select a Course or begin typing to search for a course. Select a course click Copy.

3. Once you input a course, you have the option to [4]  Select a Module and choose the [5] Place and order where the copied page will appear.

A notification will appear when the copy has successfully started.

4. Click on the  X at the top right of the window or press the close button. To view the copied page in your course, open the course you are copying content to and select modules from the Course Navigation menu. The copied content will be displayed in the module in the order you placed it. If you choose not to place the page into a module, you can view it by selecting Pages in the course navigation menu. 

Copying a Module Into Another Course

1. Select Modules from the Course Navigation Window. Click on the [1]  options menu located to the right of the module name and choose, [2] Copy To... from the drop-down menu.

2. In the [2]  Copy To... window click the drop-down menu to select a course or begin typing to search for a course. Select a course click Copy

A notification will appear when the copy operation has started successfully.

3. Click on the X at the top right of the window or press the close button. To view the copied module in your course, open the course you are copying content to and select Modules from the Course Navigation menu. The copied content will be displayed in the module list.
